I have a Figma project with mobile app layouts and a library of components, styles, icons, colors, etc that is linked to this project.

We are currently planning a slight rebranding of the application (so far only colors and some styles) and therefore I want to create a copy of this project and library. I would like the copy of the project and the library to be linked by default in the same way as the originals.

That is, Project 1 is linked to Library 1 > I copy Project 1 and Library 1 > Project 2 and Library 2 are created > Project 2 and Library 2 are linked only to each other and Project 2 and Library 2 do not link to Project 1 and Library 1 at all.

I tried the following and this is what I got: I copied Project 1 and Library 1 > Project 2 and Library 2 were created > I unlinked Project 2 from Library 1 and linked to Library 2 > Components in Project 2 still refer to Library 1, HOWEVER, the colors are already referenced in Library 2.

I wouldn’t want to rebuild every layout in Project 2 and replace every component by hand since there are so many screens. Is it possible to create copies that will be linked? OR any other ideas?

I belive it will help you 🙂
