Customizing Material 3 Design kit component colors and styles

Hello,

I am new to Figma and have read that the Material Design Kit for Figma is designed to be used with the Material theme builder plugin.

I have used the Material Theme builder to create a custom theme in my project file. Now, I would like to use the theme I just created with the Material Design kit. When I add the Material Design kit to my file via the assets tab, all its components have their own color theme instead of using the theme colors generated by my theme builder. How can I achieve this?
