Question

Cursor "jumps" when I click /try to draw something

Hi,
I’m new to Figma. I need help, please, on the following issue: when I draw some element (eg. square) on my frame in Figma, I point the cursor to a certain position on the frame, but when I click to draw the shape, the pointer moves / “jumps” to 5 mm away. This slows down the entire process and it’s very frustrating to work without precision, in a design software. Is there any way to correct this? I checked and I have the snap to grid active. Thanks

    Hi @Mariana11, I had a similar problem. I will leave my case for others.

    In my case, the root cause of the problem was the broken mouse - simply a tap sensor (left click) worked with some latency because it was worn out.

    I am dealing the mouse click selecting to the right and a little low of the cursor icon. I am not allowed to upload a video because I am a new user. My mouse is fine in all other programs. Firefox is updated.

      Hey @Atomic, thank you for reaching out!

      I wasn’t able to reproduce this on my end. Are you seeing any error message on your end? Is it happening in the browser, desktop app or both?

      Can you clear out the cache. Here are some information to troubleshoot: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/360040523973-Troubleshooting-checklist 1

      Also please try to force-quit and open Figma in a new browser window (or force-quit the Figma Desktop app and restart it.)

      I have the same issue. In all other apps, my mouse works fine. In Figma, it jumps around, disappears and reappears. I notice it happens when I am mousing over the artboards in Figma, but in the menu areas of the UI it works smoothly.

      Edit: I notice that this is happening when using an external monitor using DisplayLink software. When I unplug from the external monitor, the problem goes away.
