Ctrl + Click function in edit mode

Omid.R.G

Greetings.

I’m so used to the function of ctrl + click, which ends the current line while you’re using the pen in edit mode, allowing you to start another line inside the same shape. Basically, it does the same job as esc key, but much more convenient. But as of the new update, it actually has the same function that it does outside of edit mode: Selecting nested layers…

Now I don’t know about you, but the whole point of the EDIT MODE has been isolating the selection from everything else. It becomes quite annoying when I wanna end my current line and I have to look for somewhere empty to click, in order to end the line and not select some other layer. Is there an option to keep other layers isolated while in the edit mode? I’ve been used to this function for the past 5 years and I don’t wanna go back to extending my pinky towards the goddamn esc key! Worse is when I have a picture under my lines, and it will always exits the edit mode and selects the picture if I ctrl + click to end my line. How can I revert this? Or is there a new shortcut?

Thanks in advance.
