Question

Copy & Paste option doesn’t seem to work

When I try to copy and paste a frame, Figma only copies and pastes the text in the frame.

When I try to copy and paste an image, an icon etc. It simply doesn’t paste anything.

The copy & paste function was working perfectly and all of a sudden it stopped working.

Hi, I’ve been having the same problem these days. I’ve restarted my laptop, then turned it off and back on and the cleared the cache. @ksn (or anyone else) Do you have perhaps other suggestions, please? Cheers

Hello @Jups

I'm Toku, and I work with @ksn on the same team. I'm trying to reproduce the issue on my end, but I haven't been able to replicate it yet. Could you please provide more detailed steps to reproduce the problem? Also, does this occur in both the Desktop app and the browser version?

It seems like this might be a different issue, but since we've received a different report about copy/paste problems, any additional details you can share would be really helpful.

Thanks for your patience!

Toku

So I was having the same issue and it turned out that Clipboard access to Figma had been blocked. I had to go into my browser settings and allow The Clipboard Permission for Figma. If you go to your browser settings and search clipboard you should find the permissions.

I know this is posted 1y ago but for anyone reading I found my solution: go to settings, website permissions,  toggle off clipboard (this actually disables the "ask before" thing that is actually messing with your work even though you see nothing pop up) I already assume figma is on your allowed list as it should be.

The paste function does not work in all Android browsers such as Chrome, Samsung Internet, and Naver Whale. Text paste is possible, but it is not pasted for images. This is the case for all when paste is selected by pressing the paste through the Bluetooth keyboard and the right button.

Any updates on this? I got a Samsumg Tab S8+ especifically to work with Figma on the go, and I wouldn’t expect that such a basic functionality like PASTE would be an issue…

Hi @Gui Webster, thanks for chiming in here!

This is still working as expected on our end. Have you checked your browser settings, which other users have suggested above?

Go to your browser settings and search for "clipboard". Then, ensure Figma (figma.com) has permission to access it. If necessary, you even might need to toggle the permission on.

Let us know how that goes, or if you continue to have issues.

Hi @djv , thanks for your reply.

I have, but the issue remained.
Solution for now was to use Firefox instead.

Even better would be to have an actually functional native app 🙂
