When a user adds a comment to Figma by click/dragging a box around something - is there away to turn this into a regular comment attached to a frame?
The problem with these comments is they donât follow Frames when moved using âMove to Pageâ like regular comments. There doesnât seem to be away to move them without losing them - and I havenât found away to change a comment done in this way to attach to an artboard - then move it.
Itâs pretty annoying as I donât want to lose clients comments when organising the file.
Any ideas? Am I missing something? Thanks in advance! đ

I completely understand your frustration. Right now, comments can only be pinned to top-level elements. While there is no way to ensure comments can be pinned to nested elements, this is on our radar for improvement:Â
I donât have an exact timeline to share on when or if this will be implemented, but for now, as a temporary solution, your best bet is ensuring that comments are only placed on top-level elements.

Thanks for the info, to be honest itâs the first time itâs been an issue in 5-6 years so a bit of an edge case of producing a large volume of work, which client has added comments (in an uncommon way) that we now need to move - which I never normally do.
So for me it was just about checking I wasnât missing something/there wasnât away before updated. I can always add my own, new comments for now just referencing the original comment! :)
