Combined crop and overlap option for an image

Hi team, I’m desperate to create an image effect that looks similar to the following image:

Whilst I’ve seen many help articles and video that show how you can crop an image to a shape and how to include an image in a shape, the representation in the above link only crops the image in certain sections. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a help article or a possible a solution to the above requirement?
