Changing Team Owner with a "Starter" license

I understand you're looking to take over ownership of a Starter team after the original owner has left.

As you might already know, only the current owner of a team can transfer its ownership. However, since the original owner is no longer available, you can consider two options below. Please try the one that works best for you:

Option 1: Create a new team

You can create a brand new team under your ownership and then move the original team's projects and invite members to your new team.

• Move files between teams

• Invite team members

Option 2: Recover the account

If you were part of the same organization as the original owner, your IT team might be able to help you recover the original owner's account. They may be able to forward emails from the original owner's address to yours.

You could then:

1. Reset their password.

2. Log in as the original owner.

3. Transfer ownership to your own account.

4. Then, the original owner's account can leave the team.
