Changing details of a plugin after publishing

Hello! I’m about to send my first Figma plugin for approval, and wanted to check a couple of things before I do.

Data security questions: I’d like to complete this, but the answers are likely to change as I develop the plugin further. Can I change these answers after the plugin has been published?

Author: Likewise, I’m happy to share the plugin with myself as the author for now, but may want to change to a team in future. Is this possible?

Hi @Jonny10, Celyn from Figma Community Support here.

Thanks for reaching out, and congrats on getting ready to submit your first plugin!

I understand you’d like to check on a couple of things before submitting - specifically around updating your data security responses after publishing, and whether it’s possible to change the author from yourself to a team later on.

I’ve passed your questions along to the plugin team and will follow up here as soon as I have any updates. Thanks for your patience in the meantime!

Hey @Jonny10, thanks for your patience and also for the great questions.

To answer your questions:

1. Data security
Yes, you can update these after your plugin has been published, so it’s completely fine if your answers evolve over time. You can also update the security self-assessment when publishing a new version.

2. Author / ownership
Yes, you can switch profiles (for example, from your personal account to a team) later on. The only caveat is if you need to transfer ownership to a completely different account, you’ll need to reach out to Support for help with that.

Just to add - once your plugin is approved, you can publish updates anytime. You can also update your plugin details or Community page whenever needed.

You can find more details here:

Hope that helps, and good luck with your first submission!
