Thanks for sharing the details of the issue you're encountering. It seems you have two different issues happening here.
Now its time to build the site but I can’t export any images or text without changing the fonts to something else (which I would rather not).
I select an image and shift command E or File/Export but nothing happens. 0 out 0 exported. Inconvenient because all my source files and text are handy within the FIgma file.
It looks like you’re having an issue with the export functionality. Are you seeing any error messages when attempting to export the assets?
Please check the following troubleshooting steps to see if they help:
- Permissions sets: The ability to export assets depends on the permissions set on the file. Please reach out to an editor on the file to ensure the permissions are correct. For more information, you can refer to this guide: Restrict who can copy and share files.
- File issue: Try duplicating the file and exporting from the duplicate file to see if the issue persists.
- Browser version Issues: Since you’re using the browser version, please try clearing your browser’s cache or using a different browser to see if that resolves the issue.
For the fonts issue where I cannot extract text without installing the Font Agent.
I have downloaded and installed “Figma Agent.app”, cleared cache and restarted browser and computer but still the same. If I click on my Account profile, then Settings, under Font’s it says:
“Local fonts are currently not enabled. Install font service to enable local fonts”
To cover some basics, as you get this error message, this means you’ll need the Figma Font Helper, not just the Font Agent app. The Font Helper enables access to your local font. You can download here.
Then, make sure that your fonts are correctly installed and that Figma can recognize them through the Font Helper. Here is our full guide how to add a font in Figma design.
If the issue still persists, please also try to reinstall the Figma Desktop App again via this link if the issue happens in the Figma app.
