Question

C2PA metadata or Content Credentials.

Hi everyone, does anyone know how Figma handles AI-content provenance when generating and exporting images? For example, Nano Banana uses SynthID, while other models may use C2PA metadata or Content Credentials. However, I can’t find any Figma documentation explaining:

  • Whether these provenance signals are preserved when an image is exported from Figma,
  • Whether Figma adds its own machine-readable marking,
  • Which standard Figma uses to comply with Article 50(2) of the EU AI Act

Has Figma published anything about this, or has anyone tested exports from the different models available in Figma? I couldn't find anything so far?

Hey hey @Chris K. 🤩 Fantastic questions. I want to take these to an internal resource and get us clarity where possible. Thank you for the details. I’ll update here as I get us more information. — Jaycee
