Button label reset when pasting it in a frame with a different mode

This is a strange one. See the attached video for an example of what is happening.

I have a white label design system with the “brands as modes” approach. In the example video, I have applied 3 different brand’s modes to the 3 different sections. When I copy/paste directly into a frame of a brand with a darker colored navigation bar surface color (which uses inverted variants of the navigational buttons), the label for some reason resets. Both the regular and the inverted variants of the original button component has the same text property applied to the label. As you can also see, if I drag it directly from a frame into the “inverted” brand, the label stays intact.

Bug?

Hey @madslien, thanks for reaching out and thank you for putting together such a clear video, that's really helpful!

This does look like a potential bug to me. The fact that dragging preserves the label but copy-pasting doesn't is a useful indicator.

To help us investigate properly, could you share your file with us? If you do, I can create a support ticket on your behalf and pass both the file and your screen recording directly to our team to dig into.

A couple of extra details that would also be useful:

  • Are you seeing this on the desktop app, browser or both?
  • Does this happen across all files, or is it specific to this one?

In the meantime, dragging directly into the target frame should keep the label intact. Let me know how you’d like to proceed!

I belive you might be spot on with this. Looks like it might be a corrupt file. I did a few tests and for now it seems to work in other files. Sorry for not testing that in advance. Thank you :)Â
