Did not find a duplicate, so - I report a bug!
When fixing a sidebar while scrolling on a desktop protoype, it behaves very weird - it shows random parts of the sidebar in my main part. It disappears when I take the checkbox out.

as you can see, there is a random green block in the scrolling example.

Tried also making the sidebar shorter (in desktop base frame length), no difference.
I don’t think that this is a bug, because the random green box has the same color background as the menu you are trying to fix the position of.
Without having editing rights on your file it’s hard to pin point the exact problem here, but my best guess is this:
Whenever you set something to fix position, Figma by default makes that element a higher “z-index” than the rest of the content on the page. You will notice that whatever items you set to a fixed position, go towards the top of the layer panel like this:
With knowing this, my assumption is that that random green box, is somewhere inside of the section you are trying to fix. the reason it doesn’t show up when you turn that feature off, is because you likely have have that entire section below the items that are on the right, therefore the box is “hidden” behind the right side items.
