Every time i >zoom in], the blue select rectangle appears, and when i try to zoom inside of a frame it shifts the items out of the frame. So to put it simply; it detaches elements in frames, and groups elements that are not in frames.

It sounds like you're running into some weird group behavior when you zoom in.
I gave it a try myself, but I can't seem to make it happen here. I also checked internally, and we haven't seen any similar reports pop up.
Could you give these quick fixes a shot if you haven't already?
- Browser: Close your current Figma browser session and open a fresh new window.
- Desktop App: Force-quit and restart the Figma Desktop app.
If the issue continues, let's troubleshoot further:
- Is this happening only in your browser, only in the desktop app, or both?
- Is it in a specific file, or all your Figma files?
Also, a video recording (showing your full Figma screen) would be awesome, as I might be missing something! That'll really help us understand and figure out the best way to assist you.
