Hey all! Our design team needs to learn Figma on the fly and are looking for recommendations for the best current foundational course. They are experienced designers who have primarily worked out of Adobe CC and are new to Figma. They’re looking to learn all the Figma basics (excluding prototyping), with a focus on design system creation/maintenance.
For background, I took Mizko’s Ultimate Figma Masterclass and found it very helpful, but also outdated. I’m looking to find a similar course that includes hands-on practice, but am hoping there’s one that is more up to date with the latest Figma UI. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
Hi Lindsey,
Since your team already has strong design experience, I’d recommend going with a course that emphasizes hands-on practice and design system knowledge rather than just tool walkthroughs. One option that’s current with the latest Figma UI is a Figma UI/UX Design Certification Practice Test on Udemy.
What makes it stand out is that it’s structured around practice-based learning with 120+ questions, so learners don’t just watch tutorials—they actively test their knowledge. It’s designed to be engaging, offers a certificate of completion, and with a coupon code, your team can access it as a free course to get started.
Here’s the link: Figma UI/UX Design Certification Practice Test
I’ve found this approach especially useful for designers moving from Adobe CC into Figma, as it reinforces workflows like component systems and design system maintenance through applied learning.
