I'm working on a library. Everytime I try to edit anything on a component (even text), after the smallest change, the auto save icon shows on the tab and things get incredibly slow. Even typing is a pain.

Is there a way to pause auto save so that I can make edits in peace? Any workarounds?

Hi @Tai_Civita1 — welcome to Figma Forum, and thanks for surfacing. Sorry to hear about the slowdown you’re running into. You definitely shouldn’t have to work around autosave like this.

To help us narrow things down: Is this happening in the browser, the desktop app, or both? And if you're using the desktop app, can you check if you're running version 125.4.9 or later?

I’d love to get this in front of our Technical Quality team so they can take a closer look at the file and library involved. When you have a moment, please fill out this secure form and include:

  • a link to the affected file or library
  • edit access granted to support-share@figma.com
  • the steps leading up to the auto save icon issue
  • a screen recording of the issue in action (if possible)

In addition, you might try running through this troubleshooting checklist as it’s helped in similar cases: Troubleshooting checklist.

Again, appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and let us know how things go! 🙏🏻

Hi Tom, thanks for the reply!

I'm currently using Figma Desktop App version 125.5.6. I went ahead and submitted the ticket through the link you provided. Hope there's a solution! 😄🙏

Hi @Tai_Civita1 — thank you for taking the time to open the ticket and confirm you’re on the latest version of the Figma Desktop app.

I can see our Technical Quality team is actively investigating your case and will follow up with next steps via email shortly. Really appreciate your patience in the meantime — and don’t hesitate to reach out if anything else comes up! 💯
