Automatically update the content in mobile to match desktop

Hello!

I am wondering if there is a way to have the content in a mobile layout in Figma that automatically updates when you edit the content on the desktop layout, and vice-versa. For instance, if I have the two layouts side-by-side and I update the headline copy on desktop, I want it to also automatically update on mobile, so I don’t need to copy and paste back & forth. Same with an image fill or button text.

I tried creating a component with the desktop and mobile sizes as different variants, and it updates the size correctly when I switch variants, but not the content (text and/or image).

I’m assuming something needs to be linked somewhere in order for this to happen, but I’m not sure what or where. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance :)

You may create a string variable in your Local Variables and connect it to your text layer

I’m not sure what is the limit of the amount of characters, but you may try using it and it can do long texts too
