autolayout hugging layer that is turned off

I've set properties on the component to turn off the label and helper text, but when turned off, the layout still hugs the space where the text would have been. Is there a way to avoid this?

Below is the main component, and the instance on the right shows the text turned off but still affecting the spacing.
