Auto layout - extend button from left

I want to create a button using auto layout that extends from the left, not the right when I edit the text.  The only way I can get the text to extend to the left is when “resize to fit” isn’t selected, but then only the text extends, not the background frame of the button. Surely there’s a way to do this?
