I’m on a tight budget, so I can only use the free plan. Can I still share a link to my prototype for people to only view it on the free plan? I only need people to use the prototype to see how my project works. I didn’t see on the free plan account about sharing prototypes because the website that leads to the plan information is not working properly.

Hey @Caitlin_Richards, thanks for reaching out! I completely understand wanting to make the most of Figma on a tight budget.

You can absolutely share a link to your prototype on the free plan! Here’s how:

  1. Open your file and click Present in the toolbar to enter presentation view.

  2. From there, click Share prototype to generate a link.

On the free (Starter) plan, please note that when you share a prototype, anyone with access will also have access to the file in the editor. This is different from paid plans, where you can set permissions so viewers can only see the prototype without accessing the design file itself.

If you’re only looking to showcase your prototype without giving access to the file, we recommend upgrading to a paid plan in the future, as it also allows for features like restricting copying and sharing. More info on those features can be found here: Restrict copying and sharing on files.

Let me know if you need more help, happy to help!

To share your Figma prototype for the “Naqi” app, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Prototype: In your Figma file, click the Present button in the top-right corner to enter presentation mode.
  2. Access Sharing Options: While in presentation mode, click the Share Prototype button.
  3. Set Permissions: In the sharing settings, select Anyone with the link and set the permission to Can view.
  4. Copy the Link: Click Copy link to generate the shareable URL.
  5. Share the Link: You can now share this link with others, and they will be able to view the prototype without needing a Figma account.
