Accidentally deleted account - cannot re-register with same university email

Hello,

I accidentally deleted my Figma account because I misunderstood and thought I entered my university email address incorrectly. I simply wanted to delete it and re-register with the same correct email.

Now I cannot create a new account with my university email. The system says “your request has failed” .

My university email: [redacted by moderator to remove personal information]

How long do I need to wait before I can reuse this email to create a new account? Or is there any way to release it sooner?

I'm not sure exactly what's causing the "your request has failed" error, but since you recently deleted an account with that email, our Product Support team will be best positioned to look into what's blocking re-registration. I've opened a ticket on your behalf — your case number is: 1857984. They'll follow up at the email tied to your Figma Forum account once they've had a chance to review.

I wanted to let you know that the issue has been resolved.

Previously, when I tried to create a new account using my university email, I would get the error message "your request has failed."

However, I just tried again now, and the error did not appear. I was able to start the sign-up process with the same university email. I am currently completing the verification process for an educational account (still ongoing, hope I don’t have a problem with that😅).
