Accessible prototypes and VoiceOver read order

I was really excited to see the new accessible prototypes feature that’s been introduced recently. I was testing it out with some existing designs and my Mac’s VoiceOver feature, but am struggling to get the content to read out from the top of the page to the bottom as I would expect - instead it often starts at the bottom menu bar, then I have to go back up the page through the rest of the content. This could well be my lack of knowledge in this field, but can anyone point me to some guidance that would help, or suggest some general rules to get Figma designs to behave well with screen reader technology.
