Hey, @ishhhhhh! Thanks for your post - I can definitely appreciate the confusion when something within an interface changes or moves.

You’re looking to absolute position a child layer of a parent with auto-layout enabled, right? This option is now called Ignore auto layout and can be accomplished in two ways:

  • Select a child of an auto layout frame, and click Ignore auto layout in the right sidebar (this icon is directly to the right of the Position header in the sidebar).
  • Drag an object into an auto layout frame while pressing:
    • Mac: ⌃ Control
    • Windows: S

Here’s a quick screenshot showing the button and the mouseover text:

Let me know if you have any trouble!

In my case, I am trying to place a component inside an Auto Layout frame, but the 'Ignore auto layout' or 'Absolute position' buttons are not appearing. Please help.

Hi @BAHODIRJON

Looking at your screenshot, it seems you're currently in Figma Motion. Could you try switching to Design? That should bring up the “Position” section in the right sidebar, where you'll find the “Ignore auto layout” button.

Thanks,
