I apologize in advance for the clumsy translation from Russian. Hello, there is a problem - when running through the program, a solid black screen appears on the desktop, while buttons such as minimize, close and shrink the screen -it all works, I assume other buttons also work, but everything is flooded with black. Logging into the figma account through the browser, everything appears and works fine, the problem is only in the program on the desktop. I rebooted the computer, reinstalled the Figma, but the problem did not solve, please tell me what to do, it is more convenient to work through the program separately than switching between browser tabs.

Hi @Камилла Камолова ,

I understand you’re experiencing a black screen issue with the Figma Desktop app, even though the browser version works fine.

To cover the basics, please confirm the following:

  1. Check if your device meets the minimum operating system requirements: Check your system requirements

  2. Make sure you’re using the latest version of both your OS and the Figma Desktop app.

  3. Confirm that your Figma Desktop app was downloaded directly from: https://www.figma.com/downloads/.

Once you’ve confirmed the above, let’s try a few troubleshooting steps to narrow down the cause:

  • If you’re using a VPN, firewall, or proxy, please try temporarily disabling them to see if that helps.

  • Try connecting to Figma from a different network, such as a mobile hotspot, to check if the issue persists.

  • If possible, could you also test the Figma Desktop app on another computer?

If the issue improves after trying any of the above methods, it may indicate a network configuration issue. Please note that it’s not possible to run the Desktop app behind a firewall, proxy, or VPN. You may need to ask your IT team to adjust your network settings, or alternatively, continue using Figma in the browser.

Here are a few related resources that might help:

If you’ve confirmed all of the above and the issue still persists, please share the following details so we can investigate further (and escalate if needed):

  • Your Figma Desktop app version

  • Your OS version

  • The results from the troubleshooting steps above

Thanks,

I’m having the same issue as the original poster. It was working perfectly but this morning my Windows PC did an update. Right after the update all i get is a black screen. I have tried uninstalling it and installing a new version. but that doesn’t work. I’m on windows 25h2

Hey @Marc_Robinson, thanks for flagging this!
Were you seeing the black screen when previewing a prototype in Figma make or Figma sites? This might be related to the Cloudflare outage we had yesterday.
We have implemented mitigations for the earlier disruption. Publishing and previewing Figma Sites and Make files, as well as accessing published Sites and Makes, should now be working as expected. We are continuing to monitor to ensure full recovery.

Let me know if this is resolved now!

Hi, I have been experiencing the same problem for a week as well. Is there any update on how this could be solved? Thank you.

Hi there,

Are you experiencing this on Windows?

If so, I’d like to share two posts about similar issues that include steps which may help resolve this.
Could you please try the following steps?

Hi, I’m experiencing this on Windows. I’ve tried both solutions, but neither works.  I’ve tried everything I could find on the forums, including reinstalling the Figma desktop app. It works fine right after installation, but as soon as I restart the computer, the same blank screen appears.
