The Education plan is applied to a team, and anyone invited to that team with ‘can edit’ access needs to verify their education status within seven days. After that, Figma restricts their access to the team until they complete verification.

Here are your options.

• If your friend is a student or educator, they can verify their education status by following the steps in Figma for Education.
• If your friend isn't eligible for the Education plan, you could move the file to a team that isn't on the Education plan. Before you move a file to a different team, you need to join both teams and have ‘can edit’ permissions in both. The Move a file article covers the steps.
