Outline around link when exported to PDF

Since you can’t turn an icon into an active link, I’ve created a transparent text layer to place over the icon to made it active. But when I export it to a PDF, the text layer has an outline around it even though fills are transparent and there is no stroke/outline in the original. How do I get rid of that outline, or is it possible to make a social media icon an active link and export it into a(n interactive) PDF?
