Hey guys,

I really hope you can help me out because I couldn’t find any youtube tutorials on this topic. So basically I am designing a video editing software but I do struggle with interactions between variants within a screen.

So for example: I have a button (Mark in), when I click this button I want to be able to go a bit above inside the same screen into a video/pic and set a marker there, then I want to be able to click a second button (mark out) and drag and drop this particular part of the video (or picture) into another variant inside the same screen. How do I achieve this?

Thanks so much in advance, really hope someone can explain.

Hi @Mi_Na, Thank you for reaching out about your prototype design. I admire the initiative you’ve taken in searching YouTube to find a solution!

I’m a little unclear about where exactly you’re encountering issues with interactions between variants, but I’ll do my best to share relevant resources that might clarify things for you.

If you’re looking to create prototype interactions between variants in a component set, this article might be helpful:
Create interactive components with variants

All prototypes start with a single interaction. Each interaction has a trigger and an action. For your button, I assume you’ve set up an [On Click] trigger, but I’m not quite sure what action you’d like to assign to it. You might find this overview of action types useful: Prototype actions
