Dragging a separator between two resizing autolayout frames - Possible in Figma?

I have two autolayout frames on top of each other, both set to Fill vertically.

Between them I have a thin “separator” frame with the little drag handle icon in the center, which indicates that the user can drag this separator vertically, to resize the two frames vertically (as one gets bigger the other one gets smaller).

Is this possible to prototype in Figma?

Hi @SLT-UX, Thanks for reaching out to us about your prototype design. Your idea sounds fantastic!

I’ve been considering setting an On drag trigger on the “separator” frame along with Smart animate. However, it seems a bit tricky since ‘On drag’ doesn’t allow us to set the direction.

I noticed that this related request has been brought up by other members of our community. You might be interested in this topic: Add direction to drag

Remember, we’re fortunate to have many experienced designers in our community who might have some insights or suggestions on this. Let’s wait and see if they have anything to share.

Thanks again, and looking forward to seeing where this discussion leads!

What he is trying to do is possible in Protopie but Figma will give you some headache for similar results
