Rename layers feature (cmd+R) - Automatic Number Bug

Using the rename feature (CMD+R), why is it that when I use the Automatic number button (number ^) it always results in my components getting renamed backwards from highest to lowest?

You’d think selecting Number Up ($nn) would result in whatever I have selected getting numbered up one at a time from left to right but it does the opposite. Am I crazy?

Hi @James_McLain1 you can read a little more here about renaming layers in bulk but in short:

  • The Number button inserts a number into each layer’s name, in an ascending order.
  • The Number button inserts a number into each layer’s name, in an descending order.

See I am crazy. I just realized that the layers get named in order on the layers panel. I was expecting the layers to get renamed from left to right order.
