I have created a button and applied a text style. If I try to copy and paste a different font that is NOT a text style into that button the text style gets overridden. How can I get the button to maintain the text style regardless of what font I paste into it?

The answer is YOU CAN’T
The text style is attached to the Font, and actually, that’s how it should work.
If you want a workaround here is how:
Make another text Style from the desired font and replace it with the current one, when it’s suitable
