Drop shadow won't match corner radius - appears square on fully rounded frame

Almo07

Hi everyone!

Ran into this recent problem with drop shadows where the shadow doesn’t conform to the border radii I’ve set on a frame.

It appears to work correctly when I use a shape or a frame w/ bg color, but my “frame with icon” element and the “button” element appear to have a “squared” shadow.

Any thoughts on how to resolve this? Thanks!

Screenshot showing the layers of the selected from. Corner radius is set to 64px using a variable.

Thanks for sharing. I need to double check if this is a bug or expected behavior, but if you uncheck “clip content” on the parent frame this should fix it.

It’s hard to tell from this screenshot but does the frame size and radius match the content exactly?

Also does the checkbox to “show behind transparent areas” do anything within the drop shadow properties?

If you have a file you could share I’d be happy to hop in and take a closer look. 🙂

Hi Josh - thanks for your reply!

Here is a link to the file: https://www.figma.com/file/cjISeuyHyeMNDDT9WGDxo9/Corner-Radius-Shadow-Issue?type=design&node-id=0%3A1&mode=design&t=d6aPbpcVS4Hbhleb-1

For security reasons, I’ve used a local variable to illustrate the problem. However, in my original file the border radius variable comes from an external style library (the problem seems to persist either way).

Let me know if I can provide any more details. Thanks again!

I’m not sure if it’s related, but I got a similar issue with layer blur. When border-radius is set with a variable blurred layer do not change its shape
