Question

How to use temporarily installed fonts with Figma (i.e. font managers' fonts)?

So how to use fonts with Figma’s desktop app on Windows, when those fonts are not temporarily installed? Apparently Figma loads them from the Windows Fonts folder. Font managers, however, load fonts temporarily and somewhere else from what I see. I’ve never had this issue with other programs such as Adobe Illustrator, but with Figma fonts just don’t load, the whole app works differently.

Again, desktop/installed version.

Hi @E_ena, Thanks for reaching out about this. Are you interested in using fonts that are not currently available on your computer?

In order to use a font, it must be installed in your computer’s font manager. On Windows, you can install fonts by adding font files to the Fonts folder as you mentioned.

You can check more details and related documents here:

For those on the Organization and Enterprise plans, admins have the ability to upload fonts in .TTF and .OTF formats to use across organization files. Further information can be found here: Upload custom fonts to an organization

Hope this helps! If I got anything wrong, please let us know. If anyone else has more ideas, share them here.

Thanks again for reaching out!
