Hello Figma Community,

I’m encountering an issue when copying about 200 frames that reference local variables for their Fill values from one Figma project to another. After pasting these frames into a new project, I noticed that some of the frames did not copy over correctly.

To investigate further, I monitored the Network tab in the console before attempting to paste, and I came across a 413 error in the publish_state?keys=... request. The error message indicated a server connectivity issue, possibly due to high traffic or a configuration error, as detailed below:

413 ERROR
The request could not be satisfied.
Bad request. We can't connect to the server for this app or website at this time. There might be too much traffic or a configuration error. Try again later, or contact the app or website owner.

I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced similar issues or if there are known solutions to this problem. Is this something that Figma is aware of? Any advice on how to avoid such issues or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your help!

Best regards

Hi there,

Thanks for your post! I wasn’t aware of this issue, but it seems like you might have reached a maximum limit for copy and paste. Do you encounter the same problem when you try to copy a smaller number of frames?

If the issue still persists, could you reach out directly to the support team with a copy of your file: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?

Please make sure you use the email associated with your Figma account, include links to the file in question, and share access with support-share@figma.com. Don’t worry, inviting us to view your file won’t impact your billing.

Thanks,
Toku
