SVG Size MAJOR Issue

I’ve noticed that SVG export sizes have gone from around 20KB up to 800KB. Whatever changes have been put through in the last month is effecting it’s usability for the web exports.

Our site has a banner limit of 100KB and SVG has been an invaluable resource in meeting these restrictions. However, within the last month when I exported suddenly I am seeing consistently large file sizes of close to 1MB (800KB) for an image comprised of a single background colour and text.

This needs urgent attention as it basically makes Figma useless for any vector artwork.

We have been having trouble with this too. I wonder what could have gone wrong.

Thanks for reaching out. Can you share a quick video of what you're seeing on your end so we can take a further look please? 
 
Also, do you see any difference when using the export settings vs. right clicking on the object and using "copy as SVG"?

I cannot share the video here although the size of the exports while clicking “copy as svg” and exporting via export settings remains the same.
