New UI Rollout - Teaching Figma

Hello,
I’ve been teaching a UX/UI course at the University of Pennsylvania for the past few years, a critical part of which is teaching students how to use Figma for all aspects of the product design process. The rollout of UI3 has been presenting a host of issues in this new semester.

  1. I still do not have the new UI available in my account. As an instructor, this means I cannot use it myself to properly update my materials and help students troubleshoot its usage.
  2. Half of my students are able to revert to the old UI, but all students who have newly created accounts are unable to do so. This effectively means half of my students are using the new UI, and half are not. All of our materials and tutorials are based on the old UI, and already this is presenting a lot of confusion.

Is there a way to prioritize the rollout of the new UI to my account, so that I can effectively teach my students? I’m concerned that these issues will only compound as we continue to learn more complex functionality.

You can use this Chrome Extension until you officially get the new UI3

I’m assuming this only works for the browser, and not the desktop app?

Yes, it is. But it’s the only way right now.

According to similar answers (like this), Figma can’t give UI3 personally to someone.
