BUG: Component instances don't show the same as the master

Since the last Figma Design update, several library components got broken in another file and show weird behavior. The problem is, that the resizing of some subcomponent instances don’t work correct. However, the issue only exists in the instance used in one file. The component itself within the library does not show any issues, neither in the master, nor when inserting an instance within the library or in other files. The really weird thing is, that detaching the component instance solves the problem. However, this is of course not, what I want, because then I don’t get any updates anymore. Inserting a fresh instance of the library component also does not solve the issue.

This is a major bug and blocker for using Figma Design within our company right now and needs immediate attention!

Best regards
Martin

Hey Martin - first, I just want to apologize for the delayed response. I understand that this has been delaying your work, and we don’t want to keep you from finishing your projects.

When it comes to libraries/components/variables, the issue varies, because each file is unique in itself. There could be one adjustment needed to make things ‘behave’ again, or there could be a notable bug running in the background.

If you’d like, we can have someone on our support team review your library & file to see if they can locate the point of problem. If that’s possible & you’re willing, please do the following:

  • Share edit access to all the relevant files with support-share@figma.com. This is our official Figma support account, and only select support and engineering members will be able to access them to try and replicate any problems. You will also not be charged for this.
  • File a help ticket here, and include a direct URL to the file[s] + the name of the file[s] you’ve shared access to.

Once you’ve done that, please let me know and I will escalate the inquiry for further assistance.
