Sorry to hear about the lag — definitely sounds frustrating. I’d like to pass more details to the product team so they can dig in. Could you share a bit more context about your workflow and what’s happening leading up to the freezing? For example, what kind of prompts and how would you describe the text volume are you working with? Also, let me know if this is happening in the web app, desktop app, or both. That’ll help us narrow things down. 

Our Technical Quality team can also take a closer look at the specific file you’re working in. You can get that started by filling out this form and including:

• a link to the file where this is happening
• edit access granted to support-share@figma.com for the impacted file
• a screen recording showing the issue in action.

Yup I have the same issue, there is like a 10 second delay between typing, and the words appearing.

I’m returning with an update after checking in with the engineering team. They’re aware of this issue and are actively working on a resolution. While I don’t have a specific timeline to share just yet, here are a couple of troubleshooting tips that may keep you moving forward in the meantime:

• Try drafting your prompt in notepad first, then copy and paste it into the Make textbox.
• Duplicating the file and continuing from there has helped some users as a short-term solution.

Appreciate your patience — we’ll be in touch with more developments as soon as possible, and keep me posted on how it’s going!

​@Tom Reem I’m okey to share the detail. 

1. I start with a english prompt mix with some vietnamese.

   

    

2. 

   The initial prompts didn't have any issues at all; the problem, in my opinion, only started around version 7 or 8 (when the density of text in chats or code began to increase). I guess the main issue lies in the chat section.

   

    

3. My process is that I ask ChatGPT to write a logical prompt based on my idea, and then I copy it from ChatGPT into Figma
4. Currently, it's version 38, and I can only write externally and then copy it into Make's input instead of typing directly, as it's become too laggy and delayed.
5. I've also filled out the Technical Quality form as you provided. Thank you!

Thanks Tom, for me it started happening around iteration 300, I am currently at version 580 and it has noticeable gotten slower

Hi Team, Just thought I would add to this, my make chat window has also become very lagging in two of my projects that have versions over 100 versions, it seemed one started even maybe around version 80 or so. Yes it still all works and buld but the input lag on the text window is very noticeable.
the only fix is to type in a notepad first and then paste it, as I have found no way to get around it.

Good news: Our engineering team has released a fix for the lag issue in the Figma Make chat input field. Typing should now feel much smoother and respond as expected. ✅

The Make chat interface is extremely slow for me. The interface has stopped taking inputs. I am at version 373 of my app, which has required a lot of patience as the longer the chat thread got (and the more developed the app was), the more the lag issues increased. Now I am unable to get the interface to do anything beyond giving me the error that something went wrong:

 

This message I typed was very delayed while typing and will result in another Something went wrong message. So I’m stuck. The app is a larger one, with a supabase backend and some shortcut keys built into it for dev feedback so it’s possible one of those details is contributing, but to be honest the lags started many versions ago and have recently gotten much worse. Any help you could offer would be much appreciated as I have hit a wall trying to troubleshoot. 

If I start a new app, there is no issue with the lag, but I believe it would return with more back and forth with prompts before long. I’m looking forward to working with you on a resolution as this is still a new product. Thanks. Loving Make! - Paul

Incidentally. The app itself is running and is fairly responsive in the preview, it seems to be the Claude chat interface that is struggling.
