Issues with stroke elements in prototypes

Renato Cunha

Stroked elements (such as form fields) are not working in fill containers in responsive prototypes. The issue started on April 8th.

Also having this issue - elements with a stroke that are set to fill don’t fully fill the entire container when viewing as a prototype. Occurs both in-app and browser.

What’s strange is that I don’t have this issue when viewing the prototype using a different account. Only one of my accounts seems to be affected.

Hi @joshmt

That does sound strange! Could you please try the following troubleshooting steps with the account experiencing the issue?

  • Close any Figma tabs you're not using
  • Browser: Force-quit and open Figma in a new browser window.
  • Desktop App: Force-quit the Figma Desktop app and restart it. If the issue persists, try clearing the cache.

If you're still encountering the problem, could you share some screen recordings or screenshots? It would help us see the layer and property settings needed to reproduce the issue on our end.

Thanks!
Toku

I still have this issues after clearing cache, installing desktop app again, testing prototype in different browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, edge).

Hello, I have similaer problem with prototype. Till yesterday, everything was fine. Buttons were hovering correctly with stroke. Today I run figma > prototype and hovering is working very bad. 1st of all I do not see stroke around the hovered button. 2ndly the hover animation lags heavily and stutters when triggered in prototype mode.

On some layers within the same page, the hover interaction works correctly – including the stroke rendering – but only for a few individual button instances. The majority of components on that page experience laggy hover animations and missing strokes.

Stroked elements still shows wrong in prototypes only with fill screen full screen size it shows correctly, in the other sizes like fill with or responsive border storkes don’t fully fill the entire container,
clearing the cache  didn’t work out

Hey @Ion Neagu,

Appreciate you taking the time to clear the desktop app cache and share that you're still seeing this issue. Is it continuing to happen on your end?

If so, could you confirm a few details so I can loop in the right team:

  • Does this happen in the browser version of Figma as well?
  • What OS version are you using?
  • Are you on the latest version of the desktop app (currently 125.4.8)?

Once I have that, I’ll make sure it gets in front of the right folks. Thanks again for flagging!

  • Hey @Thomas Reem

    - Yes, in both version shows like that
    - Windows 10 pro OS build 19045
    - My version right now is:  125.4.9

That’s how it shows stroke inside in prototype menu

PS: Thank you for your time and help
