This was previously suggested for UX designers, but I think it has other use cases in social media too. Just a simple word and/or character counter in the text properties panel that updates as you type (the same way the width of the text box updates in the properties panel), and can be toggled off if you find it a hindrance.

I want Figma to add a feature that’d allow UXers to get the word and character count for the copies they write on Digital products.
