It can be very tricky (impossible) to add a dev mode annotation to a parent element, that has no padding, because the cmd+T tool will always select the child the you click on.
Like here, I end up adding the annotation on the third child, but actually I want it to go on the parent with all three elements.
Maybe some keyboard shortcut like Shift+Enter in Design mode, that simply moves the selection and annotation up one level.
