Support animated GIFs

I really need the ability to play gifs and video files.

Yes. We have been using the FigJams for research and ideation, the ability to add video or links to video of User Testing and Gifs of interactions would be sweet!

Gif Support would be nice. Also nice if they have option to play or pause. Automatically animating without choice could be overwhelming.

Agreed, this functionality if highly needed.

Just wondering if someon from the figma development team can comment as to whether video/gif support is a part of their vision for the product?

Play Videos and GIF animation in Figma Prototype. This feature is long awaiting and missing. People want to play videos and animation in their prototypes.

It would be great if animated gifs would play without having to go into presentation mode for all Figma products. Slides especially.

Agreed here with ​@Matt_Lathrom  and the rest — when I add an animated GIF to a slide (or a movie on autoplay+loop) — I definitely want to get the feel for it while designing — ya know?

Needing to go into presentation mode to just get a feel is very annoying.

Especially for Figma Slides, animated GIFs should play and loop while designing.

Maybe a global pref option could be provided to enable/disable live playing GIFs/Movies (just like View Grid, View Rulers, View Pixel Grid) while designing — just incase they become distracting to other parts of the design process — though I assume anyone using these things will want to see them in action most of the time.
