Feature request: Add character styles

Just like a developer would use strong, em, sup, sub tags in code, we should be able to create character styles that allow designers to format common inline styles without breaking the entire paragraph style.

great idea!

Yes, most of the time since the dev team doesn’t need to have a completely different style name to apply underlines and things to web pages—I’ve opted to detach font styles in designs rather than litter the design system with these variations in fonts (that would only be of use to the design team).

Maybe this is something that character variables can help address?

Yes, please! I would use these all the time, for instance, to indicate text links within a paragraph.

Yes, this is necessary. We can’t currently flow objects inline within blocks text but we should at least be able to apply multiple text styles within one text box. For example, many text boxes have trailing text with a different style than the leading text within a single paragraph.
