Start from Templates

Hi, guys! I wonder if it’s better to start from Templates or start from scratch. What are the pros and cons of each workflow?

Starting with templates can be beneficial if you’re new to Figma, as they offer a foundational understanding of design application and can inspire screen ideas. However, based on my experience, when it comes to UI templates specifically, they often come across as pre-made designs that might not always suit individual needs. Modifying them to fit specific design requirements can sometimes take more time than creating from scratch, especially when you’re familiar with Figma’s latest features. Despite having access to numerous templates, I often find myself designing from scratch for more tailored and updated outcomes. If you’re not a beginner, I’d suggest utilizing non-UI specific templates, like gradients and mockups.
