Hi everyone, please help! All my Figma files have changes to just a completely grey screen. The collaborator on these files can see them on his laptop so I must’ve accidentally clicked something on mine. Please help!
Even when I do this the screen stays grey. When I see the preview of It on my Home Screen I can see it normally, it’s just when I open the file it is grey

Hey Claudia, sorry to hear you are having issue with your Figma file!
In order to troubleshoot, can you reply to these questions?
- Is this happening in your desktop app, browser or both?
- Can you check and confirm if you see the same problem in any other browsers you have on your computer? Our supported browsers are Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge.
- If it’s just happening in one space does clearing the cache there help? For a browser you can find this under ‘Clear history’, ‘Clear browsing data’ or similar and if you use the Desktop app, here’s how to clear the desktop app cache on a Mac:
- Quit the Figma desktop app
- Open Terminal.app and enter the following command:
rm -rf "$HOME/Library/Application Support/Figma/"{Desktop,DesktopProfile} - Try opening the desktop app again
And here’s how to clear the desktop app cache on Windows:
- Close the Figma desktop app
- Open the Start menu, and paste in this, followed by enter:
%APPDATA%\Figma - In the window that opens, delete the
DesktopandDesktopProfilefolders if they exist - Launch the desktop app again
And, if these workarounds don’t still help, please re-download the desktop from the downloads page, this should fix the issue: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039823654-Download-the-Figma-desktop-app
