It would be nice if you could conveniently copy and paste from Figma to illustrator. I often create my own icons and custom shapes and it’s really annoying that I have to export these elements to files and import them in another program to fix or modify them.

It would be amazing if copying and pasting worked well from illustrator into figma. We get serious degradation/ clipping of some assets when doing this unfortunately. Moving from XD to this has been rough as we also create assets in illustrator and bring them into figma, The only work around we’ve found is exporting to PNG as the OP said.
Additionally when copying a PNG or SVG from figma into another tool it would be very nice to have a hot key for this.
