I educate classes in Figma and before the summer they could apply for an education plan using their private e-mails. Since they’ll be graduating it’s better if they keep everything on the account that they’ll be using later on - after school. But now it asks for a school mail, is there any way around this now?
Hey @Jonatan_Rist – if your students are on an approved education plan, it remains active for 2 years. If they were approved using their private emails, they should still have access to their education team as long as they sign in using the email that was approved.
Since it sounds like there may be an issue in the education granting process, I’d recommend having support provide you more guidance when it comes to your students.
Is the email you have associated with your Figma account the best one to contact you at? If not, please PM me the best address to do so (please don’t post it as a response here publicly, so we can protect your privacy )

It’s for my new students. We tried verifying at the end of last week but ran into a failure for not using a school e-mail. Their accounts were created on august 29th and 30th.

To clarify are you going to be still a student after the 3 days and would you like to extend your education status? Or is your student status expiring and you would like to move your files to a free starter plan or a paid plan?
If you are not a student after these 3 days, you have the option to downgrade to a free starter plan or to change to a paid professional plan. For this I can get you connected to our support team, they can remove your education status. From there you’ll have the option to upgrade to a paid plan.

For y’all who have this issue. At the bottom of “Verification failed” page there is a link. Click so it double-asks your university website. Confirm it and it will apply the education plan on your private account.
