We’ve been using OKLCH and OKLAB for a few years. Figma needs to catch up and support these natively to stay relevant.

Michal_Swiaczkowski

@djv Hey! It’s been 3 years and still no support for OKLCH. Is there any plan to add this to Figma? We need this! 🙏🏻

Hey Michal, thanks for looping me in!

I’ve passed this topic onto the team to hopefully get an update.

Qwik UI maintainer here https://qwikui.com/ 👋. We’ll be relying purely on oklch in qwik UI v1. Hoping this will get addressed soon. Tailwind and shadcn projects (in React, Vue, Svelte, Solid and Qwik) now rely on oklch. Allowing designers to also leverage it directly in Figma would not only make things easier for teams adopting oklch but also push other teams to adopt it and therefore improve colors and color contrasts on the web overall.

Essential.

This is a must-have in 2025. Please take full consideration of overall design on `oklab/oklch` support.  Sooner the better, I might say.

Tailwind v4 uses OKLCH. Would appreciate if Figma could reproduce this technology.

My clients are now starting to specify OKLCH. It’s time to include it in Figma.

the css contrast-color() function is getting close to baseline support, and using the oklch color space with it seems to produce more natural contrast results--our visual sense of sufficent contrast agreeing with the ratio numbers…

This contrast function allows us to programatically achieve legibility/accessiblity without having to imperatively specify colors or verbosely mix them… But this starts with Figma supporting oklch… Please, good people of Figma.
