How about just add the ability to move annotations around anywhere we please?

I need to be able to attach the annotation to the relevant part of the design- for example, I need to attach the corner radius annotation to the actual radius, not have it stuck halfway down the card with the radius.

Something as simple as needing the annotation on the left side, as opposed to it only defaulting to the right side is annoying af 🙄

Come on Figma make it already!

+1 on this, also my annotations are doing all sorts of crazy, inexplicable things like being auto-positioned OUTSIDE a section in which they’ve been placed. Or only appearing at certain zoom levels. Sometimes an annotation gets placed where I need to put a flow arrow pointing to the next screen. Need ability to control these for them to be usable and not disruptive.

Any movement on this one? Just putting my voice in on this. Without this ability, it does make it hard to share with stakeholders.

It would be a great idea to add the ability to move annotations (сhanging the place). Right now, they’re fixed in place and can overlap other elements. And you cannot change it.
What I mean is the ability to reposition an annotation freely while keeping the link to the target object intact.
Annotations are a really useful feature—thank you! Previously, I had to create similar functionality using my own objects.

Please do not move this offer to another discussion. 🙏
Can we move the Figma Annotations (in dev mode) from one Figma project to another?
These are different questions.

Adding my vote for yes, please.

It is very surprising that the Figma team released this feature and didn’t even consider how annoying it would be not having the ability to move it. Even more surprising is that it hasn’t been hotfixed already.

+1 to this.

The annotations feature needs a lot of work, currently feels half-baked. Please show some love to it.

They already have connectors with this kind of logic in Figjam, and you can copy the connector from there into a  Figma canvas and it will still work.  Would be nice if they can take that logic and apply it to their annotation tool as the hardest work (at least from an outsider perspective) is already done.
