Hi @Phu_Nguyen,
Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I’ve already shared your comments with our team for consideration.
While we can’t promise any immediate changes, the team acknowledges that being able to see the requester’s email address can be important for decision-making in certain workflows.
In the meantime, if you’d like to confirm the details of a specific access request for a file you own, please feel free to PM me the file URL(s). I’ll be happy to help connect you with our Support team.
Thanks,
+1
I completely agree with this.
In our organization, we face the same issue. When someone requests access, their name often appears as an alias or nickname, so we can’t tell who they are — whether they’re part of our company or an external person.
It’s even worse when employees accidentally log in with their personal Gmail accounts instead of their corporate ones. This creates real security risks, especially after they leave the company — many of them still have access to internal design files, and it’s impossible to identify which accounts belong to whom.
If showing full emails for everyone is considered a privacy concern, Figma could at least show:
-
full email addresses for users within the same organization, and
-
partially masked emails for external ones (e.g., a******e@gmail.com).
This would make file management much safer and more transparent for large teams.
