Mirrored prototype using Apples iOS26 ui-kit is really slow and drains the battery

I am experiencing, that every time I use iOS26 components from Apple’s recent Figma UI-kit to make a prototype, my phone (iPhone16) lags like crazy and all interactions seem sluggish. It is very annoying that liquid glass is killing the prototyping experience. Also drains the battery

Happens both with a mirrored frame or a prototype link. And also only between two screens.

Anybody else experiencing this?

Yes, I’ve just created a small prototype and noticed that the liquid glass effects totally breaks “smart animate” transitions. After hiding the BG layers where the effects are applied, the transitions work as expected.

It seems we’ll have to deal with issues like this for a while, so I’m considering not showing the effect in my UI components, so that prototypes are still functional.

I must add though that I had the issue when using the UI components from Apple UI Kit. Applying the glass effect available in Figma works well.

With more testing I noticed that is the “Blur” layer in the liquid glass backgrounds that makes transitions run slow. Simply hiding it solved the issue.
